FOR JOB SEEKERS

Click on "Participating Employers" (above) to view a list of employers and other organizations which have registered to date for the Job Fair.  This list is updated on a regular basis as new employer registrations are received.  Check it often for the latest list!

Click on "Job Application" to download the official Job Fair employment application.  Print the application and fill it out before coming to the Job Fair.  Give a copy of your completed application to each employer you visit during the Job Fair as a means to introduce yourself.  Free copiers will be available at the Job Fair for you to make extra copies.

If you have never attended a job fair before, the following are a few helpful tips:

(A) Before going to the Job Fair, review the website's list of participating employers to determine the employers in which you are most interested.

(B) Dress appropriately - you only get one chance to make a good first impression.  Even though the Job Fair is meant to be a fun, casual event, wear conservative clothing and accessories.

(C) If you have a current resume, bring copies to give to employers.

(D) Prepare and rehearse a brief, 30 second self-introduction for meeting employers.  This should include a quick summary of your skills, interests, strengths, and why you would make a good employee for that company.  Be prepared to answer follow-up questions.  Make eye contact, smile, offer a firm handshake, show enthusiasm, and be courteous.  RELAX!  Have fun and be yourself.

(E) A day or two after the Job Fair, follow up with the employers you spoke with.  Call them and/or send a brief thank-you letter or card.  Tell the employer you really want the job!
